Right now, I'm conflicted between killing off Valoria now or letting her escape to be killed much later. One reason for this is that I can submit the short version to a publication that might very well lead to film or TV options. A longer version might provide a few interesting scenes, but the ending will still remain much the same with her admonishing Rayal that karmic vision isn't needed to recognize evil.

Although I can well imagine some folks wondering if I've lost my mind, I'm not at all bothered by the fact that the story might be changed significantly if it ever reaches production. I already understand that I won't have control over it then, so it won't be a surprise if the producers should change the ending in order to make it a TV series or extend it to the natural ending I've come to envision.

You're surprised that I've decided that Valoria will die? It shouldn't be one. After all, she has one invincible tool at her disposal because she can always recognize her enemies and they don't even have the slightest clue that the karmic warrior is a woman. Furthermore, she's not predisposed to make unnecessary attacks because she's willing to bide her time and take the enemy on when she can win. It's probably not the moral high road, but it's not like she really has a choice. She doesn't have an army around her and even if she did, they'd expect her to be at the head in the worst of the fighting which is not at all conducive to a long life when there are many men who are better fighters who stand an equal or better chance of picking her off once they know who to target. Sure, TV will probably try to place her in that position, but that's their concern. I've tried to create a character that's realistic in at least a few mannerisms. She's made mistakes in handing her trusted companion. She hasn't targeted the key individuals who might cause the current regime to collapse, not that it would necessarily result in a better system or regime. As well, the forces she's confronted have been realistic in size and armament.

So what's this lead us to? Well, it's like this. There probably aren't but a few readers of this blog. Regardless, I'd like to hear from you. Speak you mind about this.
